Changing Faces DVD Examines Special Makeup Effects

Produced by Scott Essman (makeup tribute events and videos for Dick Smith, John Chambers, The Wizard of Oz, Jack Pierce, and Lon Chaney), Changing Faces presents key behind-the-scenes segments which highlight the special makeup effects process for film and television. With narration and roving camera techniques, the viewer can follow the process from conceptual sculptures through finished appliances. Filmed over the course of eight years, the four major segments each focus on a different aspect of creating makeup.

Makeup Awards - Jack Pierce Award

On February 16, 2003, the Hollywood Makeup Artists Union honored the longtime Universal Studios head of makeup Jack Pierce (1889-1968) with a lifetime achievement award at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
